Tynes require more HP due to increased drag from ground fracturing. Keep in mind your tractor’s lift capacity and weight for drills being attached by 3PL.
Steep terrains require drills with a three-point linkage (3PL).
Disc drills tend to perform better in rocky fields.
Tyne drills are a better choice for wet soils or when fracturing ultra-hard compacted soils. Discs tend to perform better for moisture retention in dry conditions.
Tynes are ideal for cultivated ground; discs or tynes with coulters excel in no-till farming with high stubble.
Larger farms benefit from high-capacity, wider drills for more coverage, while smaller drills suit confined fields.
A seed drill with a dual hopper is essential for single-pass sowing and fertilising.
Agrowdrills excel at metering all seed sizes through the main box. However, when undersowing pastures, an additional Small Seed Box (SSB) attachment is advantageous for seed depth placement.
Machines for contracting need to be versatile, efficient, and capable of handling varied conditions.
Drills must be manoeuvrable and fit small vine rows. Discs are preferred for low soil disturbance but tynes may suit harder soils. Commonly paired with harrows.
